Sedecordle

Sixteen words share every guess.

Many boards, one guess

16 boards and 21 shared guesses, or 8 boards and 13 guesses.

What is Sedecordle?

Sedecordle is a many-board word guessing challenge. In the main mode, you solve 16 different five-letter answers with 21 guesses shared across every unsolved board. This independently built version also offers an eight-board practice mode with 13 guesses. It is not affiliated with the original game publisher.

How to play

  1. Choose 16 boards or 8 boards. Changing modes starts a fresh puzzle.
  2. Enter one valid five-letter word. The guess reaches every board that is still unsolved.
  3. Use the numbered board selector to inspect each answer's clues. A check mark means the board is solved. The progress line shows how many boards are complete and how many guesses you have used.
  4. Keep guessing until every board is solved or the shared guess limit runs out. New puzzle starts another unlimited round.

Understand the clues

Each square gives its own answer's feedback. ✓ means the letter is in the correct position. ○ means the answer contains the letter in another position. × means no unmatched copy of that letter remains for that board. The symbols stay visible alongside the colors, including in colorblind mode.

Repeated letters are handled independently on all 16 boards. Exact matches are marked first, then remaining copies are assigned to misplaced letters. A second E can be crossed out even when the first E is useful, because that answer may contain only one E. The active board's letter keyboard reflects only that board's clues; choose another board to see its keyboard marks.

Plan across many boards

Early guesses should test letters that help several boards at once. Scan the overview after each turn and identify boards close to a solution. Finishing one board removes it from future feedback, letting you focus on the harder ones. A board that seems difficult now may become much easier after a guess made for another board reveals two or three of its letters.

Use the board selector instead of trying to hold 16 patterns in memory. On a phone, the selector remains above the active board, so you can move between boards without a page-wide grid of tiny letters. The game saves accepted guesses in this browser when storage is available, so you can return to the same puzzle after a reload.

Eight-board practice

The optional eight-board mode uses 13 shared guesses. Its answers come from the same curated five-letter answer set, and guesses use the same acceptance list. This mode is useful for learning how multi-board clues interact before attempting all 16 boards. It is a separate fresh puzzle; changing modes does not keep the previous answers.

Frequently asked questions

How many guesses are allowed?

The 16-board mode allows 21 shared guesses. The eight-board practice mode allows 13. Each accepted guess reaches all boards that have not been solved.

Are answers repeated in one puzzle?

No. Each board receives a different answer within the same puzzle. A new puzzle selects a new set from the curated answer pool.

What happens to a solved board?

Its solved row remains visible and its selector gets a check mark. Later guesses no longer add feedback to that board.

Is this a daily game?

No. This page offers unlimited fresh puzzles in both modes. There is no daily seed or streak claim.

For a smaller version of the shared-guess idea, play Dordle with two boards and seven guesses. You can also try Hangman for a single hidden word with a category clue.
